I’m Sarai Legaspi — a proud Latina, seasoned insurance professional, and founder of Reliable Insurance Brokers LLC. My journey into this industry wasn’t planned — it was discovered. Like many first-generation professionals, I was simply searching for opportunity. I faxed my résumé to every listing in the newspaper, and when State Farm called, I had no idea that moment would change the course of my life.

I started in Nebraska, young and Latina in a corporate world where I rarely saw faces like mine. The training was tough, the culture unfamiliar, and every week someone was let go. But I stayed. I learned resilience, discipline, and how to thrive in spaces where I wasn’t sure I belonged.

Over the next 20+ years, I worked in every corner of insurance — call centers, underwriting, bank partnerships, and community-based agencies. That’s where I discovered my true calling: building real relationships and making sure people understood their coverage. Insurance, to me, was never just about policies. It was about protecting families, stabilizing small businesses, and giving people the peace of mind to dream bigger.

In 2011, I moved to Washington. Four years later, I bet on myself and launched Reliable Insurance Brokers. It was terrifying — and the best decision I’ve ever made. Nearly eight years in, I’ve built an agency grounded in trust, integrity, and care. If I wouldn’t sell it to my own mother, I won’t sell it to you.

As a Latina in a male-dominated industry, I’ve faced discrimination and been underestimated. But I never compromised who I am. I built this business with heart — treating every client like family and standing firm in my commitment to do what’s right.

My work doesn’t stop at my agency doors. I serve as the Small Business Program Coordinator for Mi Centro, a nonprofit supporting Latino and Indigenous entrepreneurs with training, grants, and mentorship. I also founded the South Sound Latino Chamber of Commerce, creating a seat at the table for businesses who’ve been left out of the conversation for too long. For me, success is not measured by policies sold, but by communities lifted.

Off the clock, I’m a wife, stepmom, and believer in big family adventures. With my husband, Luis, and our three kids, life is full of movie nights, quad rides, and memories we’ll never forget. Add in our two Frenchies, Yogi and Tiger, and there’s never a dull moment.
