I’m Sarai Legaspi — a proud Latina, seasoned insurance professional, and founder of Reliable Insurance Brokers LLC. My path into the industry wasn’t planned — it was discovered. Like many first-generation professionals, I just needed a job. I faxed my résumé to every listing in a newspaper, and one day, State Farm called. That moment changed everything.

I started my career in Nebraska. I was young, Latina, and stepping into a corporate world where I didn’t see many faces like mine. The training was intense, the expectations high, and the culture unfamiliar. Every week someone was let go — but I stayed. I learned resilience, discipline, and how to stand tall, even in spaces where I wasn’t sure I belonged.

For over 20 years, I’ve done it all — from call centers and underwriting to bank partnerships and working in small community-based agencies. That’s where I found my calling: building real relationships, educating clients, and making sure people truly understood their coverage. Insurance, to me, isn’t about selling a product — it’s about protecting dreams, families, and futures.

In 2011, I moved to Washington and continued my journey. Four years later, I bet on myself and launched into the entrepreneurial world. It was terrifying — and absolutely worth it. Nearly eight years in, I’ve built a business grounded in trust, integrity, and personalized care. If it’s not something I’d sell to my own mother, I won’t sell it to you.

As a Latina in a male-dominated industry, I’ve faced discrimination and been underestimated. But I’ve never compromised who I am. I built this agency with heart — treating every client like family and standing firm in my commitment to do what’s right.

Beyond my agency, I serve as the Small Business Program Coordinator for Mi Centro, a local nonprofit supporting Latino and Indigenous entrepreneurs. Through workshops, grants, and partnerships, we’re empowering business owners who are often left behind due to language barriers or lack of access. It’s my mission to advocate for them — and I do it with pride.

 Off the clock, I’m a wife, a proud stepmom, and a big believer in meaningful family time. I’m married to an incredible man, Luis, and together we share a life with three amazing children who bring joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories into our home. We love movie nights, quad and bike rides, sleepovers, and big adventures — especially our trip to Hawaii, a memory we still cherish. I’m also an avid reader and passionate writer, currently working on my first book — a dream I’m determined to bring to life. And at the center of our chaos and comfort are our two beloved Frenchies, Yogi and Tiger, who keep us smiling every day.
