Winning the 2025 BBB Spark Award isn’t just a recognition, it’s a validation of a journey built on resilience, integrity, and community. This award represents every obstacle I had to overcome, every moment I refused to shrink myself, and every time I chose to lead with heart in an industry that often forgot its humanity.

My career has not been easy. As a Latina woman in the insurance world, I was underestimated, dismissed, and at times blatantly discriminated against. I’ve heard comments like “your people only buy mobile homes” or “I can’t understand you” even though I was speaking clear English. I watched others receive opportunities, partnerships, and respect not because they worked harder, but simply because they weren’t Latina.

Instead of letting those experiences break me, they became my fuel.

I spent more than 20 years learning this industry inside and out, not only what to do, but what not to become. I promised myself that if I ever built my own agency, it would be rooted in ethics, transparency, education, and dignity for every client, especially those who are often overlooked, mistreated, or taken advantage of.

Reliable Insurance Brokers is the product of that promise.

I became the professional I once needed, someone who explains, empowers, protects, and advocates for families and small business owners, not someone who just sells a policy. I built a business that treats people with respect, regardless of their language, zip code, or background.

This Spark Award affirms that you can succeed in business without compromising who you are.
That you can win by lifting others.
That ethics and community are not just values they are a strategy for long-term impact.

Today, I use my experience to give back educating and empowering Latino and Indigenous entrepreneurs so they can build, grow, and protect what they are creating. I’m paying forward what was never given to me.

This honor is not about popularity, status, or image.
This award means so much because it came from people who understand the struggle, the grit, the discipline, the setbacks, the reinvention, and the mission to create something good for our community.

I am proud, grateful, and deeply honored and I am just getting started.
